TEXTURE
by Shalyn Middleton
A collection of texture & nature inspired pottery.
My fascination with texture lays in it's multifaceted nature. Texture is most frequently implied with touch, but it hides much more. Texture shows line, depth, shadow, color, and shape. The right texture can either prompt a cringe of disgust or invoke a shudder of satisfaction. I delight in showcasing the potential small textures of our world have to offer when brought closer to the viewers perception.
Dry, cracking mud.
Curled, dying leaves.
Vibrant, blades of grass.
Old, weathered trees.
